At Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness, our club policies reflect the vibrant culture we’ve cultivated within our diverse community. With members spanning various walks of life and fitness backgrounds, we embrace a culture characterized by enjoyment, mutual support, and personal responsibility.
While each individual may pursue unique goals and come from different backgrounds, our community is united by a common purpose: the continuous commitment to self-improvement, day by day.
Conduct & Behavior
At Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness our goal is to provide a welcoming, safe, and motivating environment where everyone can pursue their fitness goals. The Code of Conduct below, outlines the standards and expectations for all members, guests, and staff. Your cooperation ensures that everyone enjoys their experience.
Member Conduct
You are expected to act in a respectful and socially acceptable manner while using the club and to be mindful of other individuals’ physical and personal space. You may not engage in behavior or conduct that Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness, in its discretion, considers inappropriate, including without limitation harassing, antagonizing, threatening, abusing, touching, or otherwise acting in an aggressive, unsportsmanlike, indecent or inappropriate manner towards any other member, guest, employee or other individual. Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness reserves the right to remove you from the club and/or revoke, cancel, suspend, or otherwise limit your membership, and/or notify law enforcement authorities if you engage in any conduct or behavior that Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness, in its discretion, considers inappropriate, indecent, unsafe, unlawful, or otherwise in violation of Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness Policies.
General Behavior
- Treat everyone with respect and courtesy.
- Use appropriate language; avoid offensive or inappropriate comments.
- Follow staff instructions and requests promptly.
- Report any suspicious activity or behavior to staff.
- All outside drink cups must have a spill-resistant lid.
- Tobacco, vaping, cigarettes, and marijuana are strictly prohibited.
Check-in Procedures
- Member photos are required in our system for verification upon check-in. Our staff will request a photo to be taken upon your first visit after joining the club.
- Scan in using key tag, bar code from Greate Bay app or by giving your full name to front desk staff upon entry.
- Notify staff of any changes to personal information such as residence address, phone number or billing information.
- Under no circumstance are you permitted to give your membership information to anyone else for admittance into our facility.
Dress Code
- Wear appropriate athletic attire.
- Closed-toe athletic shoes required at all times.
- Refrain from wearing clothing with offensive images or language.
Locker Room
- No pictures or videos of any type may be taken in the locker rooms at any time.
- All lockers are property of the Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness.
- Any open locker that does not have a keyed lock is available for day use only.
- Day-use lockers found to be in use after closing each night will be opened, and contents removed by staff. Contents will be inventoried and stored for 7 days; after which the contents will be discarded or given to charity.
- Monthly Locker rental and towel service is available. Please see the front desk for information.
- Sharing of rented lockers is prohibited.
- Payment for reserved lockers is non-refundable.
- Certain occasions require Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness employees to access occupied lockers (i.e., unreturned equipment or facility risk). On these occasions, members will be notified.
- All reserved lockers are cleared of personal contents on an annual basis for inspection, repair and cleaning. Members will be notified, but if their contents are not removed, contents will be inventoried and stored. Note: Locker clear out service may be offered in the future for a nominal fee or charged to members’ accounts for the services rendered.
- Showers, Steam and Sauna close 15 minutes prior to the facility closing.
- Announcements, fliers, posters, or any other marketing materials are prohibited in the locker rooms
Towel Service
- Daily towel rentals are available. See the front desk for more information.
- Towels should be returned to the towel return bin located inside of the locker room.
- All towels are for use in the facility and should not be taken outside the facility at any point.
- Theft, misuse, or damage to towels is subject to loss of membership or guest privileges.
Steam Room
- Elderly persons, pregnant women, persons using prescription medications, and persons suffering from heart disease, diabetes, High or Low blood pressure, seizures, epilepsy, or other serious medical conditions are not recommended to use the steam room, but if desired, please consult a physician before use.
- The steam room capacity is 6.
- A shower is recommended before use.
- Must have a barrier (clothing or a towel) between the skin and surface of the steam room.
- People should not spend more than 15 minutes in one session, as excessive exposure can be harmful.
- The temperature is set between 105- and 108-degrees Fahrenheit and is not adjustable by members or staff.
- For health reasons, exercise and grooming are not permitted in the steam room.
- Notify staff members immediately with safety concerns.
- The Steam Room may be closed periodically without notice for necessary repairs, maintenance, or cleaning.
- No glass containers
- Sauna/rubber suits are not permitted. Doing so may lead to overheating and heat related illness
- Refrain from wearing street shoes. Flip flops/shower/aqua shoes are permitted
Sauna Room

- Notify staff members immediately with safety concerns.
- The sauna room may be closed periodically without notice for necessary repairs, maintenance, or cleaning.
- No glass containers
- Sauna/rubber suits are not permitted. Doing so may lead to overheating and heat related illness
- Do not enter barefoot
Equipment Use
- Wipe down equipment after use with provided cleaning wipes.
- Return equipment to its proper place after use.
- Share equipment during peak hours; observe time limits if applicable.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to staff.
- Follow proper exercise techniques to prevent injuries.
- Refrain from using the facility if sick or experiencing symptoms of illness.
Personal Belongings
- Keep the gym floor clear of bags, jackets, and other personal items.
- Use designated lockers for personal items.
- Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not leave valuables unsecured in the locker room, gym or your car. If you lost an item, please ask the front desk to check our lost and found.
Personal Training and Coaching
- Only authorized Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness trainers or staff may provide personal training or coaching services. Use of personal trainers who are not authorized by Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness is strictly prohibited. You may not provide personal training services to, or receive personal training services from, any other member or guest, regardless of whether a fee is charged.
Policies for Tennis, Squash and Pickleball
Cancellation Policy:
- There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for both Tennis and Pickleball courts – when scheduled a card must be kept on file to ensure payment.
Attire and Equipment:
- Comfortable moisture wicking clothing suitable for movement.
- Court shoes with non-marking soles to provide stability and prevent damage to the court surface.
- Proper racquets and balls specific to your sport.
Court Etiquette:
- Respect others’ time - Arrive on time and finish promptly.
- Retrieve Balls Promptly - After a point, promptly retrieve balls from your court and return any stray balls from adjacent courts.
- Avoid distractions - Keep noise levels down during play to avoid distracting other players on nearby courts.
- Be mindful of space - Respect the personal space of other players on and off the court, especially when retrieving balls or between points.
- Keep Courts Clean - Dispose of any trash properly and clean up any debris, water bottles, towels, or any trash.
- Follow Scoring Procedures - Understand and follow the scoring procedures specific to your sport.
- Respect Court Boundaries - Stay within the boundaries of your court and avoid encroaching onto adjacent courts during play.
- Observe Proper Attire - Wear appropriate attire and footwear for your sport, including non-marking shoes.
- Follow Facility Rules - Lastly, always adhere to the facility's rules and regulations regarding court usage, facility usage, and general conduct.
Media and Technology
- There is a zero tolerance for locker room photos or videos.
- Respect others’ privacy; ask for consent before taking photos or videos.
- Use of any lighting, tripods or other such equipment is prohibited. You are expected to be respectful of other members, and you may not intentionally film another individual without their permission.
- If you post online or on social media a photo or video that was taken in our club, Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness reserves the right to ask you to remove the post.
- Use headphones for personal audio devices.
- Refrain from phone conversations in workout areas.
- All members and guests consent for Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness to use the following: photograph(s) and/or electronic media images for presentation and promotional purposes. Members and guests understand that images may appear on the Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness website and/or in publication, broadcasts, including advertisements, leaflets, posters, social media posts, and digital advertising. Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness will not include personal details of members and guests (such as postal addresses or telephone numbers) on our website, printed materials, or any other marketing/promotional materials. Any members or guests that do not consent to the above policy should notify Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness.
Weapons
- Firearms, swiss army knives/pocket knives and other weapons are strictly prohibited from being brought into Club facilities, even if you have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Good Standing
- Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness reserves the right to prohibit you from accessing and entering the club if there are any outstanding past-due/overdue amounts payable to Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness or your membership is otherwise not in good standing.
Age Restrictions
All members of Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness must be 18 years of age to sign our waiver and/or membership documents. If you are under the age of 18, your parent must sign the waiver or membership documents for you.
Parent/legal guardian waiver for those 17 years of age and under HERE
You must be at least 14 years of age to use our facility without a parent present. If you are 13 years of age, you may use our facility only if a parent is present, that parent has an active membership and that the parent is in the company of their child the entire time.
No one under the age of 13 may use the facility with or without a parent. You may be required to present an ID showing proof of age to use our facility.
Cash Free Facility
Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness is a cash free facility. We do not accept cash or Apple Pay for payment of day passes, memberships, merchandise, drinks or food items. You must have a credit card present; or you have the option to place purchases on your account. These purchases will be included in our monthly billing process.
Cancellation Policy
You can submit your membership cancellation request by completing our cancellation survey and request form (CLICK HERE). Please submit form at least 30 days prior to your next billing date. Once your request is approved, we will confirm via email of your last billing cycle and termination date.
If you would like to re-join for any reason, your membership rate will be based on current standard rate.
Cancellation Due to Relocation
You may cancel your membership at any time during or after the initial twelve (12) month commitment period. If you move your residence more than twenty-five (25) miles, you must provide Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness with reasonable proof of your new residency. This cancellation policy is in addition to any cancellation provisions in your Agreement; however, Greate Bay Racquet and Fitness reserves the right, in its discretion, to limit, modify, or revoke this policy at any time and without further notice to you.
Membership Freeze Policy
- Adult Membership: (24 +) are allowed to freeze up 4 consecutive months in a calendar year. Freeze fee’s (current fee) will be billed each month of the freeze period.
- Students/Young adult Membership: Individuals (ages 23 and younger) are allowed to freeze up to 6 months in a calendar year. Freeze fee’s (current fee) will be billed each month of the freeze period.
- Your membership will automatically revert to active status at the end of the requested Freeze period.
Freezes During the Initial Period:
Freezes requested during the initial twelve (12) month commitment period will result in an extension of the initial commitment period. For example, a request for a two (2) month Freeze during the initial period will extend your obligation date by two (2) months until you have reached the twelve (12) month commitment.
Short term / paid in full memberships (summer) are not eligible for freeze.
Add-on Services Not Frozen: Please note that any locker rental fee’s will continue to be billed during the freeze period.
Exclusions: You are not eligible for any Freeze if you have a past-due/overdue balance or your membership is otherwise not in good standing with Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness, if you joined as part of a payroll deducted or subsidized corporate membership program, or if you have a short-term membership.
How to Request a Freeze: Requests for all Freezes must be made in advance and at least five (5) days before the intended start date. Retroactive Freezes are not permitted. You may request a freeze in-person at the front desk or by submitting a request through a general inquiry form found on our website.
No Use of the Club During Freeze: Members are prohibited from accessing or using the club while their membership is on a Freeze other than any areas or services open to non-members, such as the tennis and pickleball courts or the Lifestyle Center. If you check-in while on Freeze, Greate Bay Raquet & Fitness reserves the right to revert your membership to active status, without further notice to you, and a prorated membership fee will be added to your membership account.
Free Trial
You can try out the gym by purchasing a day pass. If you decide to join us as a member, we will credit the cost of one (1) day pass towards your first month's membership fee.
Apparel and Merchandise Return Policy
Our apparel and merchandise are non-refundable/final sale.
Group Fitness Classes
Certain group fitness classes require advance booking, and you will not be permitted to participate in these classes unless you have properly booked and reserved your spot. Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness may give away your reserved spot if you are not in the class at class start time. Booking through our mobile app, you may cancel a booked class up to three (3) hours before the class starts. If you do not cancel within this allotted time period or check in by the start of class, you will be considered as having “missed” your booked class. If you miss three (3) bookings within a thirty (30) day period, you will be prohibited from booking classes online for a period of seven (7) days. Please avoid entering a class late or leaving a class early, as this is disruptive to other members’ experience.
